What is Disctrac and how does it work?
Disctrac is a disc golf app designed to help players recover lost discs. Each disc is tagged with a QR code sticker that links to the owner’s profile. When someone finds a disc and scans the code, they can notify the owner directly through the app or organically through methods established in the app (phone, email).
How do I get started with Disctrac?
Download the Disctrac app from the App Store or Google Play, create a free account, and start adding discs by scanning your QR code stickers. You’ll also get a 30-day free trial of the premium plan. (Subscription Plan In Testing)
Where do I get the QR Code stickers?
You can buy stickers here in the website or follow the link in the app. The Disctrac team is also out in the community giving starter packs out at tournaments, minis, and expos. National distribution is in the works, so look for the sticker packs at your local disc golf retailer soon. If they don't have them, ask them to get some and support the Disctrac community!
Do I need to pay to use the app?
No. Currently, Disctrac is free to use. Subscription with added features is in testing right now. Once the subscription plan rolls out, there will still be a free tier for use with limited inventory space but the paid plan will offer unlimited space and many new features. The Disctrac Pro tier will include a 30-Day free trial, then provide the premium features for only $3.99 USD per month.
What happens after the 30-day free trial?
You’ll automatically be downgraded to the free plan unless you subscribe. If you have more than 15 discs in your inventory. All your discs stay in your account. However, you won’t be able to add new ones or access some features unless you reduce your inventory or subscribe.
Can I recover my account if I lose access?
Yes. If you forget your login details or change devices, just use your registered email to reset your password and recover your data. If any additional assistance is needed, please reach out at support@disctracapp.com
Is my personal information safe with Disctrac?
Absolutely. We use industry-standard encryption and never share your personal data without your permission.
How do I add a disc using a Disctrac QR sticker?
Go to Add Disc, scan the QR code, and enter the disc’s name, brand, plastic type, and notes. Once saved, it will appear in your inventory.
What do I do if I lose a disc?
Stay calm and hope for the best. Disctrac is here to help with the lost-and-found process. If someone finds and scans the code on your disc, you’ll receive a real-time notification with options to chat or coordinate the return.
How do I transfer ownership of a disc to another player?
In your disc’s settings, tap Release Disc. This allows the new owner to scan the code and claim it into their own inventory.
What happens if someone finds my disc and scans the QR code?
They’ll be taken to a secure “Found a Disc?” screen showing the disc details and a Notify Owner button to alert you via in-app messaging and notification in REAL TIME!
If the person that finds your disc isn't a Disctrac registered user, don't worry. Once they scan the QR Code, they will be taken to the Disctrac website where they will be shown any information you have provided to coordinate a return organically through email or phone number.
How do I return a disc I found?
Scan the QR code, press Notify Owner, and follow the on-screen instructions to send a message. No app download is needed to return a disc. If you aren't a registered Disctrac user, scanning the app will take you to the official Disctrac website and the disc owner information will show for you to arrange a return.
What does “release a disc” mean in the app?
Releasing a disc removes it from your inventory and makes it available for someone else to claim and add to their account.
The QR code isn’t scanning — what should I do?
Ensure your camera has good lighting and that the QR code isn’t damaged. Disctrac QR Code stickers are durable and tested in all weather conditions but if you happen to come across a sticker that is damaged, please reach out to support@disctracapp.com and we will do our best to assist, as well as send out some new stickers!
